CAB holds its first meeting for the year!
The Coconut National Export Strategy (CocoNES) Advisory Board facilitated its first meeting for the year in May in Pohnpei. The meeting saw CAB Chair Ms. Elina Akinaga encourage every Plan of Action (PoA) implementing entity to work diligently towards completing their required tasks. This will ensure that the CocoNES Strategy remain on track to be completed within the five (5) year time-frame by 2028.
CSDC Welcomes New Members
The Coconut Sector Development Coalition (CSDC) held its meeting on the 23rd of May 2024. During the meeting, the members welcomed two new public sector representatives from the state of Pohnpei, Mr. Mark Kostka and Mr. Reed Tilfas from the state of Kosrae. The CSDC also selected Mr. Thomas Kostka as their new Vice Chairperson.

Issue 1 of CocoNES Newsletter
The Secretariat of the FSM Coconut National Export Strategy (CocoNES) recently distributed its first CocoNES Newsletter to stakeholders including the FSM President, FSM Congress, the CocoNES Advisory Body (CAB), and the Coconut Sector Development Coalition (CSDC).

Implementation Progress

The CocoNES implementation is underway where 2 of the 10 implementing entities (FSM R&D and Vital-FSMPC) have initiated certain tasks under their assigned Plan of Actions (PoA). The Secretariat is working with other implementing entities to start moving their PoA tasks forward.
