Courtesy Visits and Proposal Development Workshop
From November 11 to December 3, the CocoNES Secretariat (CoSec) and FSM Resource and Development (FSM R&D) embarked on a series of courtesy visits to the Governors of Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae. The Governors warmly welcomed the team, fostering a spirit of collaboration. At the heart of these engagements was the CocoNES Proposal Development Workshop aimed at securing state government support for advancing the workshop’s objectives.

CSDC Welcomes New Members
On August 1st, 2024, Ms. Tracy Ardos was nominated as the newest member of the CSDC, representing FSM R&D Agriculture and the FSM Government Coordinator to assist the CoSec.

CocoNES Visibility at the 2024 State and National Leadership Conference (SNLC)
On August 13th, 2024, a presentation by the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer of Vital-FSMPC Mr. Johnny Adolph was facilitated providing updates on Vital’s Agriculture and Energy mandates. This allowed the members of the SNLC to gain insights into the status of the CocoNES. The update included progress on key milestones, the components of the implementation framework, and the support needed by the leadership to move the strategy forward.
First Plan of Action Completed by FSM R&D
The CoSec is proud to announce that FSM R&D has completed its Plan of Action under the CocoNES, marking the first PoA to be completed by any lead implementing entity. The two tasks completed are PoA 2.1.1; Task one (1): Presidential Order (Amending the establishment of a Coconut National Export Strategy and task two (2): Conducting of regular quarterly meeting of the CSDC.
Implementation Progress

PROGRESS UPDATE: The CocoNES implementation is underway where 2 of the 10 implementing entities (FSM R&D and Vital-FSMPC) have initiated and completed certain tasks under their assigned Plan of Actions (PoAs). The CoSec is working with other implementing entities to start moving their PoA tasks forward.
